"Oh! come back from sea, my dear Johnny, to me,
And make me a bride of your own!
Or else for your sake my poor heart it will break,
And here I shall die all alone, alone,
And here I shall die all alone."
-I Must Live Alone, Old English Folk Song
Disclaimer: We are not professional photographers at all. Basically these are just excuses to gather together costumes, make-up, props and run around creating strange stories.
Probably the inspiration behind this was mostly the sort of creepy/sad ghost legends that surround lighthouses and old whaling towns. This was the middle of summer, but of course Northern California is always very foggy, which worked out perfectly. As it got darker, we experimented with the flash and got some interesting, ghost-y results.
For the dreamy look we put nylons over the lens and flash.
This one came out with an extra-spooky shadow man.
